Hi everyone!

It seems that almost everyday I am seeing people in the clinic with what seems to be sciatica! The pain starts in the hip and progresses down one leg, sometimes into the lower leg and even the foot. 95% of the time this pain is worse at night and when sitting. Piriformis syndrome is a condition that occurs when the piriformis muscle, a muscle that helps in the movements of the hip (ie. running, walking, squating, etc.), inflames and pinches the sciatic nerve in the foramen (hole) that they both travel through. The pain can be unbearable at times and feel like a "toothache" in the buttock.
