All The Holiday Essentials
The summer holidays are in full swing; lake days, camping trips, summer camps and family days abound. To help plan these days it is always useful to have a ‘holiday essentials kit’ ready to go at a moment’s notice. That way you can be as spontaneous as you like and just grab and go! Read on to see the P3 cream team’s guide to holiday essentials:
The Bag:
My wife always makes sure our essentials kit is stored in a large tote or beach bag such as these handy ones from Amazon Large Mesh Beach Bag with pockets. or Mesh beach bag with pockets. Multiple pockets make it easy to store all your bits and pieces and ensure it is quick to find, when it is needed.
First Aid:
I make sure we have a travel first aid kit in our bag. This link contains some great advice for what a travel first aid kit should contain: Travel health . Our blog on Family Day contains some advice about what you should keep at home: Family Day – P3 Products. There are always accidents, minor or otherwise, regardless of how well you prepare. This becomes even more essential if you are enjoying time with older or the youngest generations.
I like to ensure P3 cream is added to our first aid kit, the travel size is great for this. It soothes aches and pains and reduces inflammation and bruising from slips and bumps. Just be aware that the cold sensation from the cream can be enhanced when entering cold water! When we are more active in the holidays, injuries and painful joints can flare up and make our holiday antics less enjoyable. Having pain relief at your fingertips can provide instant relief and allow you to keep doing what you love and I can’t think of anything better.
Sun Protection:
A sun hat is incredibly useful and there are some great brands which pack down for travelling. Always useful if you are flying!

Hydration:
Make sure you take water bottles with you. Fresh water is essential at the best of times and even more so when you are active and out in hot weather. When we are messing about in water, we sometimes feel cool but that doesn’t mean our body won’t need hydrating. Dehydration is definitely something worth keeping an eye out for.

Snacks:
Healthy snacks are always welcome too, especially when we have been particularly active. I love a high protein granola bar and it is really easy to make your own. Insect Repellent:
If you are travelling abroad or spending time by lakes and rivers, a good insect repellent is always valuable. Thermacell offer travel size gadgets that are surprisingly effective at creating a mosquito free zone.
Insect repellent sprays and creams are also a holiday essential but sometimes it is hard to know what type is best, especially for children. This is a good article for more information about ingredients and what to do Insect repellents: How to protect your child from insect bites | Caring for kids.
We have received some anecdotal advice (through customer reviews) that our P3 Calm Cream, with natural lavender oil, makes a good natural insect repellent. It does this and still has all the wonderful anti-inflammatory and pain relieving effects of the original – a 2 for the price of 1 kind of product, what a bonus!
Pack up your holiday essentials with P3 cream by your side and go have some fun!
