A Day To Celebrate All Things Canadian
As a Canadian, a business owner and an entrepreneur, I am proud that my products are Canadian designed and made. I am proud of our local business with local employees and I am proud of our growth as we continue to expand and take our Canadian product out to the world. My pride in all things Canadian means we always run a big P3 Cream Canada Day Sale.
It’s running right now and if you follow the link you can check out our deals Click here!
As I thought about this week’s blog, it got me thinking about what it means to me and my team to be Canadian and what they love about their country and so I asked a few questions and here are a few of the answers…
What does it mean to be Canadian?
“I competed for my country as a young adult and remember feeling very proud whenever our anthem was played for me. I feel that when I travel, the world likes that I am Canadian and I am proud of that.”
“To be proud of your place in the country”
“Being friendly”
“Living in a peaceful nation where most citizens value individuality, freedom of expression, social responsibility and human rights”
What makes Canadian people special?
“Not believing we are anymore special than anyone else is what makes us stand out. Good natured, kind and caring for others seems to be the Canadian way that I grew up with.”
“The unity of spirit and humility in our great nation”
“Their love for Hockey”
“Their friendliness and ability to be welcoming and kind. I’ve always loved that I can become friends with anyone here by simply saying hello.”
“We are known to be friendly, polite and respectful towards others. And of course our love of Hockey!”
What are the best bits about Canada?
“Canada is a beautiful, scenic country. Living in the Fraser valley, I love the climate.”
“The beauty of the outdoors, and the people who enjoy them”
“Mountains, lakes and oceans.
“The diversity – people, places and culture.”
What is your top place to see in Canada?
“Atlantic Canada. The Maritimes look beautiful and I’ve always wanted to visit there.”
“I love going to Tofino! The open ocean is so beautiful.” and “I am always awestruck when I visit Tofino”
“I would like to see Baffin Island and specifically Iqaluit as this is where my parents were married and were officially the first white wedding on the island! My father was with the RCMP and my mom briefly lived with and taught English to a wonderful Inuit family there.
I would also like to visit the East coast as my family roots are from there and I have friends and wonderful P3 customers to visit!”
What is your favourite Canadian food?
“Freshly caught Canadian salmon”
“Poutine, of course”
“Probably traditional baked beans!”
“Montreal smoked meat sandwich”
What is your favourite Canadian phrase or saying?
“Timmies or Double double” and “Take off, eh!” with another “Eh” and a “Fill yer boots”
As a team we discussed favourite authors and bands, songs and celebrities (Wayne Gretzky and Terry Fox were right up there!).
I loved reading all the answers; seeing the pride in their country, seeing the positive traits of our people reflected through the P3 team and laughing at our differences. That is why we love Canada Day here at P3.
We want to reach out and help as many Canadians as possible to live the life they love. We want to take that goal out and reach out across the world with our Canadian made natural pain relief and help the world return to and continue with the activities they love. It fits with the Canadian way.
So many Canadians have come from around the world to settle here and make it their country. Part of what makes our culture ‘Canadian’ is this diversity. This link explores the topic a little more What Canada means to me: Citizenship week
